Overview

Jamaica Hospital Nursing Home is seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Mechanic to support the safe, reliable operation of our nursing home facility. This role is essential in maintaining a comfortable, well-maintained environment for our residents, staff, and visitors through routine repairs, preventive maintenance, and timely response to facility needs.

Salary & Benefits

$29.86/hr. – $32.53/hr. DOE
Plus full 1199 Union benefits

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repairs on building systems including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and carpentry.
• Complete preventive maintenance on equipment, resident rooms, and common areas in compliance with DOH and safety standards.
• Respond to maintenance requests and building emergencies in a timely, resident-focused manner.
• Support HVAC operations, lighting replacement, fixture repairs, and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Maintain safe, clean work areas and ensure compliance with life safety codes.
• Assist with room setups, equipment moves, and coordination with vendors as needed.
