Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is currently seeking a dedicated and dynamic Patient Access Training Associate to join our team. This full-time opportunity is ideal for an individual passionate about training, healthcare access, and operational excellence.

Position Summary:

The Patient Access Training Associate will play a critical role in developing and delivering training programs that enhance staff performance and ensure compliance with healthcare standards. This individual will collaborate closely with leadership to design engaging curricula, facilitate training sessions, and evaluate employee knowledge and skill retention. A strong understanding of healthcare insurance, public health programs, and proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

Training Development & Delivery

  • Conduct on-site and virtual training sessions on policies, procedures, and system updates.
  • Maintain expert-level knowledge of training content, hospital protocols, and organizational standards.
  • Tailor communication and instruction methods to suit diverse learning styles and audience needs.
  • Engage learners effectively and ensure content is clearly understood and retained.
  • Identify gaps in training materials and recommend timely updates.

Training Program Management

  • Maintain and update training curriculum and documentation.
  • Coordinate training schedules based on departmental needs and resource availability.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training initiatives and implement improvements (e.g., gamification, strategy refinement).
  • Promote the use of training tools to enhance staff performance and productivity.

Assessment & Performance Review

  • Perform registration proficiency reviews and analyze performance in accordance with policy guidelines.
  • Conduct in-depth account denial reviews across service lines to support quality assurance.
  •  Monitor and evaluate trainee performance and implement corrective interventions as necessary.
  •  Exhibit strong organizational skills to complete tasks efficiently and within deadlines.

Professional Development & Communication

  • Stay informed on best practices and industry trends by attending relevant seminars and meetings.
  • Communicate effectively with trainees, peers, and supervisors to resolve issues and escalate concerns as needed.
  • Demonstrate adaptability by adjusting training techniques based on feedback or situational needs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or a related field OR a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in healthcare registration and/or insurance-related roles.
  • Extensive knowledge of healthcare insurance programs and public health systems.
  • Proficiency in EMR systems and patient registration processes.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
