AMBULATORY INFUSION CENTER

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center currently seeks experienced Clinical Nurse Leader for immediate full-time opportunity in our Ambulatory Infusion Center. Our Ambulatory chemotherapy unit is staffed by a team of compassionate and specially trained nurses, who are experts in the administration of drugs, chemotherapy, and blood products.

As Clinical Nurse Leader you will serve as a front-line care leader for building and sustaining safer and higher quality care delivery for patients and families. Ensuring safe and effective patient care; and providing clinical leadership in the promotion of patient outcomes. Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team. Coordinating and facilitating daily clinical activities to ensure effective use of resources. Other duties will include:

  • Coordinating and providing direct nursing care for patients in our ambulatory cancer treatment center.
  • Measuring patient outcomes
  • Overseeing patient transitions of care
  • Implementing new clinical practices.
  • Facilitating evidence-based practice.
  • Building communication channels between teams.
  • Collaborating with physicians, nurses, social workers, pharmacists, and other health care systems teams to design best approaches.
  • Evaluating healthcare treatments and potential risks for diverse populations
  • Implementing and overseeing safety standards in the working environment
  • Educating patients and families

Requirements
  • Must have NYS Registered Nurse License and certification.
  • A Master’s degree is required, will consider Master’s in progress.
  • Must have 3-5 years demonstrated progressive clinical nurse experience within clinical specialty area.
  • Life Support Certification: BLS, ACLS ( American Heart Association)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Familiarity with EMRs, oncology treatment protocols, and evidence-based practice models
