Make a Difference in the Lives of Children
Join Jamaica Hospital Medical Center’s Pediatric Unit and provide compassionate, family-centered nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents in a dynamic acute-care environment.

Our Pediatric RNs work closely with physicians, specialists, and an interdisciplinary team to care for a diverse pediatric population with a wide range of medical needs. We are seeking nurses with strong clinical assessment skills, sound judgment, and a genuine commitment to pediatric nursing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, age-appropriate nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents
  • Perform comprehensive assessments and monitor changes in patient condition
  • Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans
  • Administer medications and treatments and provide effective pain management
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in pediatric patients’ clinical status
  • Educate and support patients and families throughout treatment
  • Collaborate with physicians, pediatric specialists, and the interdisciplinary care team

Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program
  • Current New York State RN License
  • 1–2 years of recent acute-care pediatric nursing experience preferred
  • New graduate RNs with strong pediatric clinical experience may be considered
  • BLS and PALS certification (AHA)
  • Strong pediatric assessment, critical-thinking, communication, and clinical decision-making skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced acute-care pediatric environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Previous inpatient pediatric nursing experience
  • Pediatric nursing certification
