Now Hiring: Part-Time Telephone Operators – $25.40/hr.

Telephone Operator – Switchboard Department
Location: Jamaica Hospital Medical Center | Queens, NY

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is seeking skilled and reliable Telephone Operators to join our Switchboard Department. This position is part-time (15 hours per week) and part of a 24/7 operation. Shifts include day, evening, and night, with schedule flexibility required on weekends, holidays, and weekdays.

Responsibilities:

  • Process incoming calls and transfer callers to the appropriate individuals within the organization
  • Relay messages accurately and efficiently
  • Route calls, carry out clerical duties, and transfer information
  • Process emergency calls for both medical and non-medical situations
  • Understand the basics of the telecommunications system to communicate and report issues that may require maintenance
  • Perform other tasks as directed by the department manager
