PHYSICIAN ASSISTANTS –  NEUROSURGERY

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is a community-based hospital and Level 1 Trauma Center.  Our  Hospital  is an accredited stroke center.  We provide innovative and comprehensive surgical care to treat patients with a wide range of rare and complex conditions. Our team of highly trained and experienced neurosurgeons use the latest minimally invasive technology and surgical interventions to treat conditions affecting the brain, spine, and peripheral nervous system.

We are currently seeking Physician Assistants with for immediate F/T, P/T and  Per Diem  Day, night, and weekend opportunities.   Our ideal candidates will be flexible, willing, and able to work a combination of days, nights, and weekends.

DUTIES:

• As a Physician Assistant in our Neurosurgery Department, you will have the opportunity to manage all aspects of care, including medicine, pre-op, post-op, and discharge responsibilities. Additional responsibilities will include:
• Taking initial patient histories and performing physical examinations.
• Evaluating, diagnosing, developing, and managing treatment plans.
• Ordering and interpreting lab tests
• Counseling patients
• Performing various medical procedures and assisting in surgical operations.
• Conferring with attending physicians, residents, and other care providers to ensure optimum quality of patient care.
