 About the Opportunity

At Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, our Telemetry team plays a vital role in delivering real-time cardiac monitoring that supports life-saving care.

As an EKG Monitor Technician, you will be responsible for continuously observing cardiac rhythms, identifying abnormalities, and ensuring rapid communication with clinical staff. Your expertise will directly impact patient safety and outcomes.

What You’ll Do

  • Continuously monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms
  • Detect and report arrhythmias, irregular heartbeats, and critical changes
  • Perform EKGs and accurately record cardiac activity
  • Assist with diagnostic cardiac procedures, including stress testing
  • Maintain precise and timely patient documentation
    Ensure proper operation of telemetry and EKG equipment
  • Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot monitoring devices
  • Respond quickly in emergency situations
  • Support training of new team members

Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • EKG/Monitor Technician certification or Associate Degree (preferred)
  • Minimum 1 year of telemetry or related experience
  • Current CPR certification
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to stay calm and focused in fast-paced environments
  • Technical proficiency with medical equipment and systems
