Jamaica Hospital Medical Center’s Radiology Department offers a wide variety of state-of-the-art diagnostic and specialty services including ultrasound, mammography, MRI, diagnostic radiology, fluoroscopic procedures, and much more. Our radiology department is recognized as a premier provider of clinical imaging. Our goal is to offer the best diagnostic medical imaging for a variety of health conditions. We offer image-guided medical treatment options that support our patients’ long-term function and wellbeing. We are currently seeking to identify and recruit a Registered Nurse with previous Radiology experience.

DUTIES

As a diagnostic and interventional radiology nurse, you’ll be a vital member of our radiology team, providing patient care during diagnostic and minimally invasive, image-guided procedures. In addition, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Routinely starting and or checking peripheral I.V.s, administering medications, monitoring vital signs, suctioning patients, and helping patients with their personal needs.
  • Informing radiologists of unusual patient needs.
  • Performing specialized nursing duties, such as monitoring patients with I.V. sedation or analgesia.
  • Providing specialized Instruction for patients, families, students, technologists, other nurses, radiologists, and physicians regarding patient care and/or nursing policies. 
  • Maintaining quality improvement and infection control, via data collection and record-keeping. 

 

Requirements
  • Must have current Registered Professional Nurse in New York.
  • Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Nursing required
  • Must have relevant clinical competence in the area of radiology or critical care experience
  • ACLS, PALS, and BCLS certification.
  •  Must be available to work 10:00 am - 8:30 pm and be flexible to work early shifts from 7:30 am - 5:50 pm every other weekend and holidays.
