LABOR AND DELIVERY  12 HOUR NIGHT SHIFTS 

The Labor & Delivery Unit at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center provides comprehensive labor and deliver services for more than 2,000 births each year.   Our labor and delivery unit offers the latest medical technology, and our team approach ensures a birthing experience that is patient focused.  We are currently seeking experienced L&D RN’s  for  immediate full-time flex day shifts. .

Selected candidates will help expectant women through the birthing process, assisting with complications, and caring for mothers and infants after deliveries.

DUTIES

  • Educating and preparing new parents before, during, and after delivery of their baby
  • Monitoring the baby’s heartbeat during labor
  • Monitoring mother’s blood pressure during labor
  • Identifying possible complications as they arise
  • Helping to administer epidurals and other medications
  • Performing diagnostic tests as needed
  • Monitoring newborns after birth
  • Keeping detailed records of the birth process
  • Aiding new mothers as they adapt to breastfeeding
  • Consulting with physicians or midwives regarding the mother and baby and their conditions

Requirements
Must be a graduate of an Accredited BSN Nursing Program NY State RN License required Minimum 1-2 years of recent Labor and Delivery experience required BLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Program, and NCC Fetal Monitoring Certification required
