Flushing Hospital Medical Center is a 293-bed, not-for-profit teaching hospital. The hospital offers a variety of services for a culturally diverse community, including Bariatric Surgical Service, Ambulatory Care Center, Women’s Health Center, Wound Care Center, and Chemical Dependence Unit. Our busy on-site full-service pharmacy provides prescription services to discharged, emergency department, and clinic patients as well as employees. We are currently seeking an experienced Supervisor.

Position Summary

The Food & Nutrition Supervisor provides direction for patient meal services at patient care units to ensure customer satisfaction and retention for the Company.

Key Duties

  • Directs daily operations of patient meal services at patient care units to ensure employees have appropriate equipment, inventory and resources to perform their jobs and meet goals and deadlines.
  • Supervises day-today work activities by delegating authority, assigning, scheduling, and prioritizing activities and monitoring operating standards.
  • Conduct meal rounds with patients, pantry checks and tray audits
  • Cash responsibility -cash out, bank deposits, count safe,
  • Establishes operating standards, implements quality improvements and communicates them to employees.
  • Performs audits and prepares reports
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • ServSafe or Food Protection Certification.
  • Management experience preferred.
