REGISTERED RESPIRATORY THERAPIST

(SLEEP LAB) 12 HOUR SHIFT   7 PM – 7:15 AM

The Sleep Department at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is a 4-bed modern sleep lab, providing various types of sleep studies. 

We are currently seeking Licensed Respiratory Therapists for immediate full-time career opportunities in our sleep laboratory. Within this role, you will be responsible for conducting sleep studies for infant children, adolescents, and adult patients.

Our ideal candidate will have an in-depth working knowledge of Sleep-disordered breathing technology and treatment. You must be a team player, with a strong passion for sleep medicine and a genuine desire and commitment to improving the quality of patient lives.  Other specific duties will include:

?DUTIES:

• Greeting, orienting, and assisting patients in our sleep laboratory.
• Performing routine Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) interface fitting and desensitization
• Applying electrodes and sensors according to AASM standards.
• Performing physiologic calibrations to assure proper signals and make appropriate adjustments.
• Documenting observations regarding sleep stages, clinical events, changes in PAP pressure, and other significant events.
• Perform routine mask fitting for CPAP titration patients.
• Adjusting the leads and assisting patients during the night as needed.
• Using age-appropriate interventions and education.
• Performing data acquisition while monitoring, make necessary adjustments to assure artifact-free signals.
