PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT

Jamaica Hospital’s Division of Gastroenterology consists of Board-Certified gastroenterologists who provide high quality and expert care to patients who require treatment for a wide variety of digestive disorders and other conditions.  We are currently seeking a Physician Assistant for an immediate full-time opening.  Our ideal candidate will have prior gastro / related clinical experience, be team-oriented and have a  strong desire to treat patients with digestive disorders. Various duties will include:

DUTIES:

• Performing health assessments including patient history and physical examinations, diagnostic procedures, and screenings.
• Interpreting and integrating data to determine the appropriate diagnosis and therapeutic treatment plans.
• Formulating appropriate diagnoses, based on history, physical examination, and clinical findings.
• Documenting and uprating patient records.
• Collaborating with physicians and other health care providers to administer treatments.
• Ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic procedures and tests.

Monitoring and evaluating patient progress and when necessary, making adjustments to treatments.
