PHYSICAL THERAPY ASSISTANT

Jamaica Hospital Nursing Home is a not-for-profit, short-term rehabilitation/long-term care facility, located in Jamaica, New York on the campus of Jamaica Hospital Medical Center.  We are a CMS five-star rated facility and ranked in the 1st Quintile for Quality.  Our facility is in need of a motivated individual to join us as a Physical Therapy Assistant. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provides clinical services as a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to appropriate residents under physician’s orders.
• Reports to the Physical Therapist information relating to the patient’s progress, complication, and/or response to treatment.
• Maintains confidentiality of all patients, facility, and physician-related information.
• Maintains accurate billing information in accordance with procedures daily.
• Attends and participates in interdisciplinary meetings as appropriate to relay clinical findings and recommendations to other members of the rehab team.
• Attends and participates in family meetings as appropriate.
• Adheres to documentation requirements of the Rehabilitation department and the facility.
• Conducts staff training/education as appropriate via formal and informal in-services and consultations.
• Reviews and follows the policies and procedures outlined by the facility and Rehab Policy and Procedure Manual.
• Supervises non-professional staff as appropriate
