The Department of Pathology at Flushing Hospital Medical Center immediately seeks an AP/CP or AP only Board certified MD, MD/PhD, or DO Physician to join our collegial team as a full time surgical pathologist. Candidate must be pathology board certified, have an established expertise in Anatomic Pathology and must possess or be eligible to obtain New York State License. Graduating pathology fellows are encouraged to apply.

Established in 1884, Flushing Hospital Medical Center is considered the first hospital in Queens, New York.  The hospital is a 293-bed not-for-profit teaching hospital.

Job Description:

Candidates should have strong diagnostic skills in general surgical pathology and cytopathology. The position provides unique professional challenges through a diverse case load. We are a progressive, proactive practice that desires candidates who possess similar qualities and are eager to function as exemplary physicians within a multidisciplinary medical staff.  Expertise in Breast pathology and or Breast fellowship training are strongly preferred.  Responsibilities would include surgical pathology and cytology Non-GYN and PAP smears diagnostic sign-out, FNA adequacy, intraoperative consultations with frozen sections, and taking frozen section calls.

 

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • M.D/DO degree
  • Board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology or AP only with subspecialty breast fellowship training strongly preferred
  • New York medical license required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
