It’s an exciting time to come on board at Jamaica Hospital. Our institution consists of a 402-bed hospital, a large culturally diverse network of community based ambulatory care centers and a skilled nursing facility in a public urban setting, conveniently located near JFK International Airport and in close proximity to Manhattan. With over 120,000 ER visits, the ER is designated as a Level 1 trauma center. Our Chest Pain Center offers immediate evaluation and the recently expanded Pediatric ED is equipped to handle the most critical cases and supported by one of the largest voluntary ambulance fleet serving the City 911 system.

About the Role:
Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is seeking an experienced and dedicated Psychiatrist to join our team as the Psychiatry Residency Program Director. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the Department of Psychiatry’s residency program in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Administration:
Collaborate closely with the Department Chair to oversee the residency program’s leadership, organization, operation, and administration.
Maintain and shape the program’s strategic aims, ensuring high standards, quality, and reputation.
Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure the program meets the requirements of the Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), the Residency Review Committee (RRC), and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).
Ensure the educational training experience is complete and complies with institutional and regulatory guidelines.
Program Oversight:
Oversee the candidate recruitment process and manage the program’s budget.
Review performance measures and allocate staff resources appropriately.
Educational Environment:
Participate in the institutional graduate medical education committee.
Provide supervision to fellows, residents, and other trainees.
Foster Excellence:
Represent residents and the Department to the Graduate Medical Education Committee.
Ensure a positive educational environment, promote resident wellness, and deliver superior professional service.
