Jamaica Hospital Medical Center (a member of the Medisys Health Network) is a fully accredited, community-based teaching hospital and a Level I Trauma and Stroke Center. We are committed to delivering professional, compassionate care to the underserved patients and residents of Queens.

We are currently seeking a Board-Certified/Eligible Psychiatrist for an immediate full-time, opportunity in our Center of Excellence Grant Program (COE).

Our COE focuses on advancing clinical research, providing specialized treatment for complex mental health conditions, developing innovative therapeutic approaches, educating healthcare professionals, and advocating for improved patient care—especially for minority and underserved communities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality, evidence-based treatment for patients with complex mental health conditions, using advanced therapeutic techniques.
  • Design and implement studies to explore new treatments, identify risk factors, and enhance understanding of targeted psychiatric conditions.
  • Analyze research data, publish findings in scientific journals, and present at professional conferences.
  • Mentor and train psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers on best practices in psychiatric care.
  • Partner with community organizations to promote mental health awareness and improve access to care.
  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and manage patient care.
  • Diagnose and treat developmental, neurological, and psychological disorders.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical and psychiatric records.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.

Requirements
  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of an accredited psychiatry residency program.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible through the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).
  • Valid NYS medical license to practice psychiatry.
