Clinical Pharmacy Specialist – Operations Job Description

1.       Coordinates Pharmacy IV Admixture Services

2.       Coordinates departmental purchasing activities in the management of Purchasing and Inventory Control.

3.       As the workload and staffing dictates, assists in all aspects of the daily operation of the department

4.       Assures that all medications are stored properly and securely

5.       Strives to maintain good interdepartmental and intradepartmental relationships

6.       Keeps the pharmacy staff apprised of changes in regulations, law and department policy

7.       Participates in the Performance Improvement Committee and Drug Use Evaluation program as requested.

8.       Monitors the environment within the pharmacy relative to physical appearance, safety and staff behavior and performance and takes action to correct any problems.

9.       Manages Drug Distribution via the Automated Dispensing Cabinets

10.   Assists in training and orientation of all new employees.

11.   Performs other duties as required, which may include those duties of professional, technical and clerical staff

12.   Requires knowledge in the care and handling of patients in all age groups, ranging from neonate, pediatric, adult and geriatric, including, but not limited to consideration of the special need and behavior of each respective age group
