Jamaica Hospital Medical Center a member of the Medisys Health Network is a 404 bed fully accredited community-based teaching hospital and Level I Trauma and Stroke Center. We provide general medical, pediatric, and psychiatric emergency services, ambulatory care on and off-campus, ambulatory surgery, and a broad spectrum of diagnostic and treatment services.  We are currently seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Manager for our Medical Surgical Department.

DUTIES

The Clinical Nurse Manager will report to the Nursing Director of Medicine-Surgery, the selected candidate will manage a 39-bed unit. He/she will be responsible for creating a healthy work environment in which autonomy is nurtured, encouraged and reflected in a highly competent workforce capable of providing quality care.

 

  • Planning, implementing, and evaluating delivery of overall nursing care to patients for the Medicine-Surgery unit to ensure daily operations run smoothly.
  • Implements unit-specific quality and performance plans.
  • Collaborates with the clinical interdisciplinary team to provide optimal patient care.
  • Ensures that staffing patterns provide optimal delivery of nursing service.
  • Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of nursing practice and principles.
  • Evaluating patient outcomes and staff performance.
Requirements
  • NYS Registered Nurse License.
  • MSN required; enrollment in an MSN program will be considered.
  • Board-certified preferred.
  • BLS, ACLS, (By American Heart Association).
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer proficiency including EPIC/EMR software.
