We are proud to offer a state-of-the-art inpatient unit and a highly regarded outpatient clinic for psychiatric care. Our talented team of psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, social workers, creative art therapists, and clinical psychologists are passionate about offering the care that our community deserves.
Psychiatry features a Division of Addiction Services where your loved one can receive comprehensive assessments and treatment for alcohol and chemical dependency. These services are offered through our inpatient through Chemical Dependence Unit and our outpatient Reflections Treatment Program.
CHEMICAL DEPENDENCE UNIT
This unit, featuring 30 beds, is a detoxification unit where your loved one can experience safe alcohol and drug withdrawal. Several professionals provide treatment that is culturally sensitive and caring in this unit:
INPATIENT MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES UNIT
Our hospital’s psychiatric inpatient unit, which features 18 beds, offers a pleasant therapeutic environment where patients can experience recovery safely with the help of highly qualified professionals. In our psychiatry unit our patients can benefit from a wide range of treatment options, including the following:
- Electroconvulsive therapy
- Art therapy
- Medication therapy
- Family and marital counseling
- Group psychotherapy
- Individual psychotherapy
OUTPATIENT PSYCHIATRIC CLINIC
The outpatient clinic also offers a number of services to help our patients. These services include the following:
- Marital counseling
- Family counseling
- Medication management
- Group psychotherapy
- Individual psychotherapy
We offer our outpatient services to adults (including seniors) and children (including adolescents).
CONSULTATION FOR PSYCHIATRIC SERVICES
Flushing Hospital’s Psychiatric Department also provides around-the-clock consultation services on all other hospital inpatient units, including the obstetrical, pediatric, geriatric, surgical, and medical-surgical units for those patients who are being primarily treated for other medical issues, but could also benefit from receiving our hospital’s mental health services in NYC.
