DIRECT CARE REHAB ASSISTANT

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center’s Individual Residential Alternative is a six-bed (IRA) for individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Operated under the regulatory guidance of the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), our IRA staff focus on promoting independence and preparing adults with developmental disabilities to become productive members of their communities.

We are currently seeking caring, dedicated, and compassionate Direct Support Professionals for immediate full-time and part-time opportunities in our TBI Unit

DUTIES:      

• Supporting individuals with their activities of daily living.
• Accompanying individuals to medical appointments.
• Administering medication(s) and completing appropriate documentation.
• Assisting with preparing and serving meals.
• Accompanying individuals to and from appointments and activities.
• Providing companionship while engaging in productive activities.
