The MediSys East New York Department of Dental Medicine provides high quality dental services for pediatric and adult patients. Our dental center features a 5-chair dental clinic and is staffed by a team consisting of two dentist, one hygienist, and support staff. We are proud of our uncompromising commitment and approach in providing the highest levels of professional, compassionate dental care to the many culturally diverse, underserved patients we serve. We are currently seeking an experienced Dental Assistant for an immediate full-time opportunity at our East New Clinic located at 30-80 Atlantic Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11208 .
SPECIFIC DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:
Working closely and under the supervision of the dentist, Lead Assistant and office Manager selected candidate will be responsible for the following.
· Greeting, seating and draping patients.
· Assisting dentist during dental procedures.
· Setting up instrument trays, preparing materials, and assisting with dental procedures.
· Using Scanix system to take patient x-rays.
· Arranging and setting up patient treatment rooms.
· Ordering dental supplies and maintaining dental equipment.
Must have High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma. Minimum 1-3 years relevant dental assisting experience. Familiarity and desire to work in a community based dental setting. Good organizational and communication skills. Knowledge of dental terminology. Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred · Available to work alternate Saturdays.
