Performance Improvement Coordinator

Location: Jamaica Hospital Medical Center
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Salary Range: $110,000 – $120,000

Position Summary
Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Performance Improvement (PI) Coordinator to support the implementation and oversight of the hospital-wide Performance Improvement Program. Reporting to the Director of Performance Improvement, the PI Coordinator plays a key role in advancing quality initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of safety, reliability, and continuous learning.

Our ideal  candidate will be a process-driven, organized, and proactive team player with a passion for healthcare quality and safety. This individual should be capable of managing complex projects, interpreting data trends, and fostering interdisciplinary collaboration to drive measurable improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and implement quality improvement tools, methodologies, and initiatives across departments.
  • Conduct and support Root Cause Analyses (RCA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEA).
  • Participate in Quality Improvement Committees, task forces,
  • Abstract charts and review incident reports to identify performance gaps and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support peer review, risk management, patient safety, and infection prevention efforts as needed.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • 3–5 years of experience in Quality/Performance Improvement within a healthcare setting.
  • Experience with quality methodologies such as RCA, FMEA, and continuous improvement models.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • CPHQ (Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality) certification preferred.
