Supervisor

The Supervisor works together with The Laboratory Director and Manager to supervise the implementation and maintenance of all Chemistry tests.  He/she works together with The Laboratory Director and Manager to oversee all aspects of the Chemistry Department.

Responsibilities include:

• Organizes and directs the daily activities of the Chemistry Laboratory.  Responsible for supervising laboratory personnel, conducting and overseeing quality assurance.
• Handles troubleshooting of equipment, QC inspections and reporting.
• Ensures laboratory compliance with all regulatory agencies, which includes monitoring of QC, turnaround time, statistics, completing annual policy reviews and annual competency assessment of staff,
• Is responsible for payroll  scheduling and maintaining timecard system for employees
• Recruits, interviews and make recommendations to fill personnel vacancies
• Completes new staff training as well as meeting proficiency test standards for all required analyses.
• Interacts with other departments and participates on Hospital committees as it relates to laboratory functions.
•  Directly supervises all technologists
• Handles troubleshooting of  Complaints & Occurrences
• Accounts for disciplinary action as needed. Consults with HR on disciplinary issues
• Ensures efficient and effective departmental operations
