 Salary: $21.67 / HR.

The Department of Dental Medicine at Jamaica Hospital provides high-quality dental services for children, adolescents, adults, and special needs patients.  Our state-of-the-art dental center features a 19-chair dental clinic and is staffed by a team consisting of 30 voluntary attendings, three hygienists, 15 residents, and large support staff.  We are proud of our uncompromising commitment and approach in providing the highest levels of professional, compassionate dental care to the many culturally diverse, undeserved patients we serve. We are currently seeking an experienced Dental Assistant for an immediate full-time opportunity.

SPECIFIC DUTIES WILL INCLUDE:

• Working closely and under the supervision of the dentist, Lead Assistant, and Office Manager.
• Greeting, seating, and draping patients.
• Assisting dentist during dental procedures.
• Sterilizing instruments.
• Setting up instrument trays, preparing materials, and assisting with dental procedures.
• Taking x-rays and arranging and setting up patient treatment rooms.
• Ordering dental supplies and maintaining dental equipment inventory.
