Neurosurgery Physician Assistant (PA) – Surgical | Queens, NY

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center – Neurosurgery Service

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is seeking a Neurosurgery Physician Assistant (PA) to join our established neurosurgical team in Queens, NY. Our program delivers advanced surgical care for complex conditions of the brain, spine, and peripheral nervous system, with a strong focus on patient-centered treatment and multidisciplinary collaboration.

This role is suited for a PA with experience in surgical or high-acuity acute care settings who is confident managing complex neurosurgical patients across inpatient, emergency, and operative environments.

What You Will Do

  • Perform comprehensive neurological and surgical patient assessments
  • Manage neurosurgical patients across inpatient and emergency settings
  • Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic studies including neuroimaging
  • Develop and adjust treatment plans in collaboration with attending neurosurgeons
  • Document admissions, progress notes, consults, and discharge summaries
  • Coordinate care with ER, OR, ICU, radiology, and specialty services
  • Assist in neurosurgical procedures as first or second assist when required
    Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and care coordination

Requirements

What We Are Looking For

  • 1–2 years of Physician Assistant experience preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited ARC-PA Physician Assistant Program
  • Active New York State Physician Assistant license
  • NCCPA Certification required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Prior experience in surgery, neurosurgery, or high-acuity hospital care strongly preferred
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to perform in fast-paced environments
     

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay Rate: $72.75 – $81.91/hr. (DOE) + differentials
  • Benefits: Full 1199 SEIU Union benefits package
