The Surgical department of Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is seeking a full-time critical care, trauma, or ACS fellowship-trained surgeon to join our team of 7 full time faculty. The department provides clinical services to include trauma, emergency and elective general surgery, and surgical critical care. Our surgical critical care has support of respiratory technicians, physician assistant, pharmacist, and nutritionist who join for daily rounds.

We are an ACS Verified Level I trauma center located in South Queens, NY. Jamaica Hospital Medical Center has one of the largest voluntary ambulance services in the City’s 911 system.  JHMC is one of the busiest trauma centers in the NYC area with a high penetrating trauma rate at 27% and provides care for a high volume of operative trauma patients.  The trauma team includes surgical residents and nurse practitioners with research and performance improvement teams dedicated to the trauma program.  There is a robust Injury Prevention program with a growing hospital-based violence intervention program.

  • The position includes coverage of the SICU, trauma and emergency general surgery services utilizing an acute care surgery model with opportunities for development of a general surgery practice. 
  • Candidate should have interest in clinical education as we train and work closely with surgical residents and medical students.
  • Faculty appointment available through NYIT medical school.
  • Clinical research opportunities are abundant.
