REGISTERED NURSE – WOMEN’S HEALTH CLINIC             

Jamaica Hospital’s Department of Women’s Health is a nationally designated  Baby-Friendly Hospital.  Our OB/GYN department boasts a Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine, which uses the latest and most up-to-date treatments and equipment to ensure the health and safety of mothers and babies. Our Gynecologic Division uses the newest minimally invasive surgical techniques to ensure fast recoveries and positive outcomes. As a Baby-Friendly Hospital, we are dedicated to encouraging breastfeeding. We are proud of our uncompromising commitment and approach in providing the highest levels of professional, compassionate care to the many culturally diverse, patients we serve. We are currently seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with strong experience in Women’s Health for an immediate full-time position.

DUTIES:

Selected candidates will work with expectant mothers performing a wide range of duties to ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of mothers and unborn children. Specific task will include

  • Performing Fetal Non-Stress Testing (NST) procedures to detect abnormalities in expectant mothers.
  • Educating and instructing patients regarding self-care and newborn care.
  • Providing breastfeeding assistance and education.
  • Providing care to high-risk antepartum care patients.

 

Requirements
  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
  • Current NY State Registered Nurse License & Registration.
  • Minimum 1-2 years RN experience in Labor & Delivery / Women's Health.
  • Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)  certification.  
  • Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM)  preferred
