As an Ambulatory Care Representative, you’ll be the first point of contact for patients seeking care in our facility. Specific duties will include:
- Register patients for emergency room visits and – when applicable – inpatient services, obtain accurate patient demographic and insurance information;
- Scans all relevant documentation into the EHR / EMR system;
- Verifies all patient information on the Ambulance Call Report (ACR);
- Prepares ID bracelets and confirms patients are accurately identified before placement of the ID band on the patient;
- Completes registration visit questionnaires (i.e., language, travel, PCP, etc.);
- Verifies insurance eligibility at the time of patient registration;
- Accurately completes coding of insurance plan from insurance wizard;
- Provides patients with the information required by federal mandates, i.e., Patient Rights and Responsibilities, Advance Care Directives;
- Communicates all information and financial responsibility to the patient/guarantor;
- Distributes patient admission forms (chart);
- Perform other duties assigned.
