Clinical Nurse Manager – Medicine-Surgery

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center (Medisys Health Network) is a 404 bed fully accredited community teaching hospital, with a Level I Trauma Center, located in Queens, NY. We currently have a Clinical Nurse Manager career opportunity in our Medicine-Surgery Department. The Clinical Nurse Manager will report to the Director of Medicine-Surgery, selected candidate will manage a team of 39 staff nurses. He/she will be responsible for creating an environment in which autonomy is nurtured, encouraged and reflected in a highly competent workforce capable of providing quality care.

• Planning, Implementing, and evaluating delivery of overall nursing care to patients for Medical/Surgical unit to ensure daily operations run smoothly.
• Implement unit specific quality and performance plan.
• Collaborates with the clinical interdisciplinary team to provide optimal patient care.
• Ensures that staffing patterns provide optimal delivery of nursing service.
• Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of nursing theory and practice and principles, methods and techniques involved in providing nursing care.
