We are currently seeking a Senior Accounting Clerk for an immediate full-time opportunity in our Cash Posting Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Post daily cash receipts, including electronic payments, checks, and other payment sources.
  • Apply insurance and patient payments accurately and timely to the appropriate patient accounts.
  • Review and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and Electronic Remittance Advices (ERAs) to ensure correct payment application.
  • Reconcile deposit totals with posted transactions and identify, investigate, and report variances.
  • Process adjustments, refunds, and write-offs in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Research and resolve misapplied payments and post discrepancies.
  • Generate, maintain, and distribute Excel reports related to cash posting activity and performance metrics.
  • Meet daily, weekly, and monthly payment posting and reconciliation deadlines.
  • Collaborate with billing, collections, and insurance teams to resolve account-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records to support auditing and compliance requirements.

Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, payer requirements, and departmental procedures.

Requirements
Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree preferred. Previous experience in medical billing, cash posting, patient accounting, or revenue cycle operations preferred. Working knowledge of EOBs, ERAs, insurance payment processes, and payment posting procedures. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to manage high-volume workloads while meeting deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Strong Excel skills required. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with healthcare systems such as Epic. Familiarity with insurance reimbursement methodologies and payer guidelines. Prior hospital or healthcare revenue cycle experience.
