Job Summary

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is seeking an experienced Lead CT Technologist to join our Radiology Department. This role performs advanced CT (CAT scan) imaging procedures while providing day-to-day leadership, workflow coordination, and technical support for the CT team.

The Lead CT Technologist ensures high-quality diagnostic imaging, patient safety, and efficient department operations in a fast-paced acute care hospital setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform CT imaging procedures following established protocols
  • Ensure accurate patient positioning and high-quality diagnostic images
  • Administer IV contrast per protocol and ensure patient safety
  • Maintain radiation safety standards (ALARA)
  • Coordinate daily CT workflow and prioritize STAT, ER, inpatient, and outpatient exams
  • Provide leadership and guidance to CT technologists
  • Assist with training and onboarding new staff
  • Monitor image quality and protocol compliance
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate technical support
  • Collaborate with radiologists and clinical teams as needed

Requirements
  • ARRT certification (Radiography – R) required
  • ARRT CT certification preferred or required within timeframe
  • Minimum 3-5 years CT experience in an acute care or hospital setting
  • Prior lead, charge, or senior technologist experience preferred
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume environment
