Who We Are Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is a patient-focused, not-for-profit, community-based hospital conveniently located off the Van Wyck Expressway in Richmond Hill, Queens. Our hospital facility and associated outpatient clinic sites provide many medical and clinical services to an underserved community. Our Emergency Department contains a Level 1 Trauma Center and is equipped with technology that rivals the nation’s most prestigious healthcare systems. What You’ll Do

Assess employees’ work quality and accountability.
Supervises team members’ performance to ensure alignment with organizational policies and procedures.
Conduct quality reviews through daily auditing to ensure process adherence and delivery of quality service.
Manages the implementation of change initiatives while maintaining high levels of employee morale and productivity.
Monitor team assigned work queues and provide timely feedback.
Complete monthly work schedules that are responsive to business demands, process payroll timely.Review and complete radiology recall log and manage related patient correspondence.
Engage in service recovery in alignment with our mission, vision, and pledge.
Conduct team in-servicing on changes that have been made and implement new policies.
Ensures accurate and efficient patient registration processes/best practices are adhered to.
Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.
Recommends process improvement initiatives and implements/controls upon approval.
Creates and maintains an effective work unit.
Participates in interviewing and evaluating applicants/communicates employment recommendations.
Monitors and verifies TRACE application to ensure the provision of safe, quality emergent care.
Responsible for verification of benefits with all third-party insurance for acute inpatient admission.
Reviews and updates patient demographics, insurance information, and significant changes to inpatient accounts in a satisfactory manner.
On-call 24/7 for issues that arise within the department.
Perform all other duties assigned.

Requirements

What You’ll Bring

  • 3+ year working in medical/and or medical insurance field preferred. Prior experience in EPIC preferred.
  • Prior experience in a medical insurance background is preferred.
  • Effective written, verbal, listening, and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills and strong ability to multi-task. Knowledge of revenue cycle business operation preferred.
  • Knowledge of electronic verification systems to accurately verify eligibility status for acute inpatient accounts.
  • Typing/keyboard/computer navigational experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel Prior experience or exposure to governmental and third-party payors Critical thinking/problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate potential areas of opportunities for improvement.
  • Ability and willingness to embrace a growth mindset in a rapidly changing environment.
