ASSISTANT HEAD NURSE – REHABILITATION UNIT

We are currently seeking experienced Assistant Head Nurses for immediate full-time opportunity in a fast paced Fast-paced rehabilitation unit

JOB SUMMARY
As the Assistant Head Nurse in our Rehabilitation Unit, you will play a critical leadership role in overseeing nursing staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. Working closely with the Head Nurse, this role is responsible for managing daily operations, supporting nursing personnel, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes in the rehabilitation setting. You will also ensure adherence to quality standards, staff development, and seamless communication among healthcare professionals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Managing and assigning tasks to nursing staff, ensuring efficient workflow.
  • Providing guidance, mentorship, and training as needed.
  • Monitoring staff performance and provide feedback to promote professional growth.
  • overseeing patient progress and reviewing treatment plans in coordination with the healthcare team.
  • Ensuring proper implementation of rehabilitation therapies and interventions.
  • Addressing patient concerns and facilitating appropriate adjustments to care plans.
  • Facilitating effective communication between nurses, therapists, physicians, and other healthcare staff.
  • Acting and serving as a liaison between staff and leadership to relay concerns and recommendations.
  • Participating in interdisciplinary meetings to coordinate patient care plans.
  • Enforcing nursing and rehabilitation quality standards.
  • Ensuring patient safety protocols and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Overseeing daily operations during assigned shifts, including staffing adjustments.
  • Addressing emergent situations and providing problem-solving support.
  • Maintaining a structured and organized workflow for nursing staff.
  • Ensuring accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Reviewing nursing records for compliance with clinical standards and best practices.
  • Participating in training and education initiatives to enhance clinical skills.

Requirements
  • Must be a graduate of an Accredited BSN Nursing Program.
  • MSN degree preferred.
  • NY State RN License required.
  •  Minimum of [2] years of nursing experience, preferably in rehabilitation or a related field.
  •  Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  •  Strong knowledge of rehabilitation nursing principles and best practices.
  •   Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  •   Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
