Jamaica Hospital Medical Center currently has full-time temporary opportunities for Patient Access Representative (certified medical assistant) for our Medisys East New York clinic. Jamaica Hospital operates a network of community based clinics known as MediSys Family Care Centers.

Jamaica’s Family Care Centers, located throughout the community provide a wide range of services including: Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Family Medicine and Obstetrical/Gynecological care. Other services that are available and vary from site to site include: Allergy and Immunology, Cardiology, Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Nutrition, Podiatry and Pulmonology as well as many pediatric sub-specialties including Pediatric Allergy, Pediatric Cardiology, Pediatric Endocrinology, Pediatric Gastroenterology and Pediatric Neurology, just to name a few.

Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES: Review daily clinical schedule and be able to anticipate appropriately Prepare patient charts prior to their visit Ensure excellent patient care and patient service is provided at all times Triaging patients Document clinical notes appropriately, accurately and timely in our EPIC system. Assist in checking in and out patients, when necessary Assist the physicians during exams Clean up, set up, and prepare equipment and supplies for use Maintains logs with accurate documentation Follow up with insurance companies for authorizations and referrals Provides coverage, when necessary
