Clinical Documentation Specialist

Flushing Hospital Medical Center is a 293-bed, not-for-profit teaching hospital. The hospital offers a variety of services for a culturally diverse community, including Bariatric Surgical Service, Ambulatory Care Center, Women’s Health Center, Wound Care Center, and Chemical Dependence Unit. Our busy on-site full-service pharmacy provides prescription services to discharged, emergency department, and clinic patients as well as employees. FHMC seeks a Clinical Documentation Specialist.

Responsibilites:

• Perform Medical Record review to ensure complete, consistent Documentation
• Perform MD queries to avoid ambiguous, contradicting documentation
• Performed Clinical Validity queries
• Education to coders, CDI and MD 
• DRG Validation
• DRG Appeals
