Pharmacy Technicians

Jamaica Hospital Medical Center is a 404-bed, not-for-profit teaching hospital. Our inpatient Pharmacy Department operates 24 hours per day and provides full pharmacy services for our busy Emergency Room, Intensive Care, adult, and neonatal Medical and Surgical, Hospice, Behavioral Health, Maternal, and Fetal units, and ambulatory care clinics. Our ideal candidates will have prior inpatient hospital experience OR significant retail experience consisting of 3 plus years or more.

DUTIES: 

• Performing inventory management (ordering, receiving, stocking).
• Regularly delivering medications to inpatient areas.
• Triaging phone calls and referring to the pharmacist when applicable.
• Maintaining pharmacy files and records.
• Assisting with pharmacy inspections.
• Adhering to State and Federal regulations and Pharmacy Policies and Procedures.
• Completing annual competency  assessments
