CARDIAC ECHO TECHNOLOGIST

DEPARTMENT: PEDIATRIC CARDIOLOGY 

Jamaica Hospital’s non-invasive cardiology lab utilizes the latest technologies and imaging techniques to diagnose and treat conditions that affect the heart.
Our laboratory is staffed by Board Certified cardiologists, cardiac care nurses, nationally certified sonographers, and medical imaging technicians who work together closely to provide quality care and a broad range of cardiovascular services in a patient-centered environment.  We are currently seeking an experienced Cardiac Echo Technologist for an immediate part-time opportunity. 

DUTIES:

  • Performing echocardiograms and,  Carotid Doppler tests to obtain important data about patients
  • Examining blood flow, valve function, and chamber size to determine the overall condition of the heart.
  • Assisting physicians in the diagnosis of patients with heart conditions
  • Accurately recording patient data and test results
  • Reviewing  patient files to detect and identify abnormalities
  • Assisting with administrative duties including scheduling appointments and cleaning and maintaining  equipment

 

Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalency
  • Pediatric echo registration from ARDMS RDCS (PE) or CCI RCCS is required
  • Must be registered with a pediatric echo license
  • Successful completion of formal training in diagnostic Cardiac Sonography
  • 2 years of recent Cardiac Sonography experience or comparable training/experience
